Sammy Weathers is a woman held captive in Cottonwood Cove in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[edit]
Together with her family, Weathers was traveling through the Mojave Wasteland, when they were ambushed by members of Caesar's Legion near Searchlight.[1] While she, her mother and her brother Kenny were captured and brought to Cottonwood Cove, her abusive father Frank fled and managed to escape.[2]

- Once freed, she will move to the Old Mormon Fort in Freeside, together with her mother and brother.
- Killing her mother or brother by detonating their collars will result in her becoming sad and dismissive, no longer allowing her collar to be removed. She can still be freed after paying Canyon Runner but says the player character will get no thanks from her.

Bugs[edit]
When the Courier arrives in Cottonwood Cove, Sammy may already be dead. If she is dead, Kenny will not give the option to deactivate his collar, instead calling the Courier a "killer." To rectify this and complete the mission, find Sammy's body and resurrect her inside the slave pen. This will allow the Courier to speak to all of the Weathers family and deactivate/activate their collars.-
When the Courier arrives in Cottonwood Cove or when a previous save in the area is loaded, Sammy may be standing or walking outside the cage. She will exhibit the same behavior as though she were in the cage and will walk into the cage when the gate is opened.
